Mr. Paul Samuel “Sammy” Thompson, Jr., age 77 of Lake Louise Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Pruitt Health Toccoa.
A son of the late Paul S. Thompson, Sr. and Claudia Thompson, he was born February 13, 1942 in Munford, Alabama having lived in Toccoa for the past 30 years. He was a retired machinist with Coats America and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Sessums.
Survivors include his wife, Elba Ronson Thompson of the home; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Robert Smith of Toccoa; sons and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Tracey Thompson of Martin; grandchildren, Christina, Nathaniel, Alissa, Elijah, Elizabeth, Kaitlyn; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Aaron; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Dan McCrimmon of Bessemir, Alabama.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 22, 2019, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Brian Pulliam officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Delane Smith, Nathaniel Smith, Elijah Smith, Chad Smith, Scott Smith and Mark Henson.
The family will be at the home on Lake Louise Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Paul Samuel “Sammy” Thompson.
