Obituary Date: Monday, September 16, 2019

Mrs. Lyubov Gordeevna Vakulich, age 74, of Hoschton passed away September 16, 2019.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 20, 2019 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Pastor Andrey Vazeniller will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Lyubov Gordeyevna Vakulich was born on September 1st, 1944 in Mutvitsa, Ukraine to Gordey Stepanovich Korneychuk and Maria Maxsimovna Korneychuk. She was the 5th, out of 9 children. In her childhood, Lyubov was obedient, curious, and hardworking. She was very active and loved to read, draw, and explore the outdoors.

On May 5th, 1968, Lyubov married Ivan Vakulich and the young family moved to Pinsk, Belarus. In March of 1969, their first daughter Liliya was born. God gave them a total of 13 children: 6 sons and 7 daughters. Lyubov was a loving and sacrificial mother. Besides being a homemaker, she also worked part time. She sowed children’s clothing, wove beautiful rugs, and grew various vegetables to help support the family financially.

In November of 1992, the Vakulich family moved to Sacramento, California, United States, where they lived for 24 years. Throughout many years, Lyubov did the important job of raising her children. She was a devout Chirstain and instilled Christian principles into the hearts of her children. Words cannot describe the amount of work and effort that she selflessly invested into her family over the years.

As time passed, the children grew up and got married. The two older children got married in Belarus, and the remaining 11 in the United States. The family continued to grow with the addition of grandchildren. Presently, Ivan and Lyubov have 51 wonderful grandchildren.

No matter the hardships in life, Lyubov was always bright and joyous. Her husband, along with others, described her to have a meek and quiet spirit. Her home and her heart were always open for others. She especially loved when her children and grandchildren would visit. She would always attend to them and feed them goodies.

Lyubov especially loved nature. One of her hobbies was to maintain a garden. She grew fruits, vegetables, flowers, and other plants. Her children, grandchildren, and friends would often enjoy the harvest from her garden. Lyubov was a great homemaker and cook. She made the most delicious soups and salads. She also had a hidden talent that only the closest ones knew about, and it was writing poetry. Her poems are cherished and kept by the family. The gift of writing poetry and being artistic was passed on to several of her children and grandchildren.

In July of 2017, Ivan and Lyubov moved to the state of Georgia where several of the younger children lived with their families. By the end of July of 2019, Lyubov began feeling sick. Her sickness progressed very quickly and unfortunately turned out to be incurable. On August 9th, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with 4th stage cancer of the hip bone. After 4 days, she was released to hospice care. During the last 5 weeks of her life, Lyubov and her husband lived in the home of their daughter Svetlana and son-in-law Andrey Strilkivsky. She was always surrounded with love by her husband, children, and grandchildren. On September 16, 2019, at 2:38 am, Lyubov departed to eternity, to Jesus.

In our memory, she will always be the best mother, grandmother, and beautiful person. We believe that the Lord has prepared a special crown for her for all of her motherly care. Her name means love, and she truly lived that out in her life. We will miss her deeply!
