Mr. Thomas Stephen “Steve” Howard, age 63 of Carnes Creek Road, Toccoa passed away Monday, September 16, 2019 at his residence.
A son of June Norris Howard and the late Thomas Hubert Howard, he was born November 30, 1955 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was employed with Milliken for a number of years and was a member of Mt. Sinai Congregational Holiness Church in Lula. He loved coon hunting and deer hunting. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hubert Howard and by a brother-in-law, Grigg Shirley.
Survivors include his mother, June Norris Howard of the home; daughters and son-in-law, April Howard of Habersham County and Misty and Shannon Smith of Gainesville; two sons, Michael Howard and Paul Lawson of Anderson, South Carolina and Stephen Howard, Jr. of Alto; grandchildren, Cobey, Burgundy, Stephen, III, Nolan, Ryan, Sara, Paris, Najji and Shay; sister, Dona Kay Shirley of Eastanollee; nephews, Kevin, Kendall and Jon Shirley.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 20, 2019, 2 O’clock p.m. at the Rock Quarry Congregational Holiness Church with the Reverend Dennis Wade and The Reverend Sanford Kimbrell officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Cobey Howard, Ryan Stevens, Stephen Howard, III, Nolan Stevens, Kevin Shirley, Kendall Shirley and Jon Shirley.
The family will be at the home on Carnes Creek Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
