Shirley Ann Simmons Cody, age 72, of Lavonia, GA passed away Monday, September 16, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. Simmons, Sr. and Darlene Brown Simmons.  She is survived by her husband of thirty-nine years, William D. Cody, Lavonia, GA; son, Michael D. Swafford, Toccoa, GA; grandchildren, Grace Ann Swafford, Michael Andrew Swafford, Jr.; sisters, Betty Simmons Baugh, Rome, GA and Mary Simmons Smith, Lexington, GA; brothers, Buck Simmons, Elberton, GA and  J.T. Simmons, Jr., Flowery Branch, GA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Mrs. Cody was born September 11, 1947 in Conyers, GA. She graduated from Monroe High School, Monroe, GA and was a homemaker. There will be no formal services
