Ofelia Zuñiga Contreras

Ofelia Zuñiga Contreras, 69, of Gainesville passed away September 10, 2019 at Piedmont Regional Hospital in Athens.

A Rosary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at St. John Paul II Mission with the Mass Service at 12:00 p.m. Father William Canales will be officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September12, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Born on May 5, 1950 in Jalisco, Mexico she was the daughter of the late Teodoro Zuñiga and Baudelia Mata. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith.

Mrs. Contreras is survived by her husband, Santiago Contreras of Gainesville; sons, Rafael Contreras of Gainesville, Alfonso Contreras and wife Lucy of Jonesboro; daughters, Elba Oceguera and husband Gerardo of Gainesville, Erika Godina and husband Heri of Braselton; son, Santiago Contreras, Jr of Guelph Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Abigail Contreras, Marisol Oceguera, Angela Oceguera, Alexandra Oceguera, Lilian Contreras, Alessandro Godina, Natalie Godina, Ethan Godina and a number of other relatives.
