Mary Jane Hamilton

Mary Jane Hamilton, 85, of Gainesville, GA, was born December 16, 1933 to the late Doc Whelchel and the late Nellie Estella Whelchel in Lumpkin County, Georgia. She went home to be with the Lord on Sunday September 8, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ace June Johnson; daughter Linda Gail (Terry) Marshall; and brother, J.D Whelchel.

She was a devoted Christian and a member of New Beginnings Pentecostal Outreach Church in Jefferson, Georgia.

She leaves to cherish sweet memories to her husband, Donald K. Hamilton, sister, Jessie Pearl Rucker, granddaughter, Shantel Marshall; grandson, Terry “Todd” (Celeste) Marshall; great-granddaughters, Tieshia (Eddrick) Copeland and Tiya Cantrell;

great-grandson, Terry “Trey” Marshall; great-granddaughters, Ensley Copeland and Emorie Copeland; brother-in-laws, Tony Hamilton, Bobby Hamilton, and Ronald (Dusty) Hamilton; sister-in-law, Shirley Trammell; special friends, Roxanne Gaines, Violet Ledford, Darlene Banks, and Shirley Harrison; and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday September 12, 2019 at 1pm at New Beginnings Pentecostal Outreach Church, Jefferson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Gainesville. Viewing will be Wednesday September 11, 2019 from 2pm-7pm. The family will receive family and friends from 5pm-7pm.
