Pedro Moises Vega Matos

Mr. Pedro Moises Vega Matos, age 53, of Gainesville passed away Friday, August 23, 2019.

Funeral Services will be 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home.  Rev. Luis Viera will officiate.  The family will receive friends 12:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2019 and 12:00 – 3:00/5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Vega Matos was born October 7, 1965 to Augusto C. Vega Rodríguez and Dora E. Matos Echevarría in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.  He was a member of Free Chapel and owner of Vega’s Income Tax and Services since 1994.  Upon obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree of Computer Science with a Minor in Business Administration from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, he worked for the USDA Forest Service as a Computer Systems Manager.  During his free time, Mr. Vega Matos enjoyed handyman work, poker, his Harley Davidson, boating, dancing and traveling.

Mr. Vega Matos is survived by his wife, Brenda L. Vega; children, Isamar Z. Vega, Janina N. Vega and Pedro M. Vega, Jr.; and siblings, Sarai Vega-Matos, Eunice Vega-Perez and Augusto C. Vega-Matos.

Due to Mr. Vega’s conviction, willingness to help others in need, and his personal relationship with the Salvation Army, the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to be made to The Salvation Army, Gainesville Corps, 711 Dorsey Street, Gainesville, Georgia 30501, www.salvationarmygeorgia.org.
