Mr. Charles Walter Spencer, age 81 of Madison Hill Drive, Madison, South Carolina passed away Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A son of the late William Trinum Spencer and Beulah Meeks Spencer, he was born April 29, 1938 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived most of his life in Madison, South Carolina. He was retired from Borg Warner Company in Seneca, South Carolina. He was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and former Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the Westminster Masonic Lodge and was instrumental in establishing the Cleveland Fire Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Harris Spencer.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Spencer of Madison, South Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Darlene Spencer of Eastanollee; grandchildren, Jordan Spencer and Jared Spencer; brother, James W. “Bill” Spencer of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 27, 2019, 4 O’clock p.m. at Old Liberty Baptist Church with The Reverend Mark Nelson officiating. Members of the Cleveland Fire Department will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the funeral home by 2:30 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Charles Walter Spencer.
