Mary Elmore Brown, age 72, of Buford, GA passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019. She was preceded is death by son, Magnus Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Brown, Buford, GA; children, Marcus Brown, Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Alecia Brown, Montgomery, AL, Jayce Brown, Spring Hill, TN; sister, Sandra (Lamedgar) Grant, Buford, GA; brothers, Michael (Darlene) Elmore, Gilbert Elmore, Elijah (Angela) Peters, Jr., and Anthony Peters, all of Mobile, AL; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Brown was born August 15, 1947 in Mobile, AL. She was a 1965 graduate of Mobile County Training School, a graduate of Alabama State University with a bachelor degree, and a graduate of Bishop State University with an associate degree.
She was a retired educator from Alabama Public School System as a teacher, with over thirty years of service. Mrs. Brown was a member of Suwanee GoodTimers Senior Group in Suwanee, GA, and a member of Cross Pointe Church, where Dr. James Merritt is pastor. She served in numerous capacities at Cross Pointe Church in Duluth, GA.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, with interment following at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends 1:.00 p.m. until 2:50 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the funeral home.
