Mrs. Billie Baldwin McMillian, 91, of Chattanooga, TN, died Sunday, August 18, 2019, in Toccoa, GA, after a brief illness.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. John Albert and Mrs. Ola M. Baldwin of Chattanooga, TN, and the loving mother of two sons, Mr. Jerald W. “Jerry” Baldwin of Lavonia, Georgia and the late Mr. Steven F. “Steve” Maples of Chattanooga, TN.
Affectionately known as “Miss Billie” to many, she was active in her church and several social groups, including the O.E.S., for many years. She is also survived by her sister, Mrs.Sheila A. Thompson and brother-in-law, Mr. Otis G. Thompson of Soddy-Daisy, TN; her brother, Mr. Johnnie H. Baldwin and sister-in-law, Mrs. Wanda L. Baldwin both of Sebring, FL; daughters-in-law, Mrs. Marie S. Baldwin of Lavonia, GA and Mrs. Kathy Maples of Chattanooga, TN; granddaughter, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Baldwin and wife, Mrs. Mary Chloe Baldwin of Norcross, GA; grandson, Mr. John E. H. Baldwin and wife, Mrs. Stacy L. Baldwin; great grandson, Master Jonah E. Baldwin and great granddaughters, Misses Annabelle L. and Caroline J. Baldwin, all of Marietta, GA; nephew, Mr. John R. “Robbie” Baldwin and wife, Mrs. Lynn Baldwin of Soddy-Daisy, TN; and stepson, Mr. Lloyd McMillian of Chattanooga, TN.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Alan Rogers at 2:30 P.M., August 28, 2019 at Chattanooga National Veterans Cemetery. Inurnment will immediately follow at the Chattanooga National Veterans Cemetery. The family suggests a donation to a charity of one’s choice or Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
