Arthur Van Cleef Armstrong

Mr. Arthur Van Cleef Armstrong, age 83, of Cleveland passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at Seasons Hospice.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home.  Rev. John Elliott will officiate.  The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mr. Armstrong was born June 23, 1936 to the late William Harold & Frances Roorbach Armstrong in Plainfield, New Jersey.  A veteran of the United States Army he was a member of Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian and a retired Engineer with Hannah Plastics.

Mr. Armstrong is survived by his wife, Miriam Armstrong of Cleveland; daughters & sons-in-law, Sandra & Scott Winfrey, Frances & Andy Tubbs and Elizabeth & Mitch Furbush; step-children, Winford & Debra Smith, Lamar Smith and LaVonne Elliott; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; sister & brother-in-law, Mary Lou & Gordon Bird of Manasquan, New Jersey; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Armstrong.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church, Uganda Mission Trip, 1724 Highway 155 North, McDonough, GA 30252.
