Henry F. “Red” Holbrook, age 89, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
Born in Mountain City, Georgia on February 25, 1930; he was a son of the late Jess and Melissa Smith Holbrook. Mr. Holbrook served his country in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant. Red enjoyed woodworking, helping others, supplying the community with firewood, and calling square dancing. He was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Frances Loudermilk Holbrook and son-in-law, James Garrison. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Survivors include his daughter, Gail Garrison of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and William Craig of Mt. Airy; grandchildren: Crystal Garrison, Cale Garrison, and Ronnie Craig and wife, Terena; and great-grandchildren: Bryce Craig, Caden Garrison, Brentley Craig.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Kelley and Mr. Eddie Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
