Stephen David Danion

Stephen David Danion, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home in Gainesville, Ga on Saturday August 3, 2019.  He was born on December 21, 1943 in Danbury, CT to Leo and Angeline (Kovacs) Danion.  After he graduated from Danbury High School, he attended Western Connecticut State University.  He served in the United States Army and taught electronics. He worked in research and development as a Senior Electronic Engineer for several companies in Connecticut as well as in Georgia. 

Steve was very involved in church activities, especially serving on the Board of Ushers at the Alpharetta First United Methodist Church.  He also served as treasurer on the Oakmont HOA for several years.  He loved collecting stamps and coins, bowling, music, baseball, basketball and enjoying time with his family and friends. 

Steve is survived by his beloved wife Arlene, son Eric, daughter Elizabeth, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Donna Campel Stoll and Linda Campel. 

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home 1190 McEver Rd.  Gainesville, Ga. 30504 with the Reverend Carolyn Clayton from the Gainesville First United Methodist Church officiating.  The Family will greet friends at the Chapel from 12:30 until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
