Laura Yvonne Simmons

Mrs. Laura Yvonne Simmons, age 77, of Pendergrass passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 2, 2019 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. Rev. Jason Simmons and Rev. James Campbell will officiate.

Mrs. Simmons was born September 12, 1941 to the late Henry David & Bonnie Louise Wade in Athens.  She was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church.

Mrs. Simmons is survived by her son and daughter in law; Ricky & Cheryl Simmons of Gainesville; son, Randy Simmons of Pendergrass; son and daughter in law; Ronald “Pee Wee” & Renee Simmons of Horton, Al. and daughter and son in law Rena & Ransom Ash of Dahlonega; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; a number of brother & sisters; and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph C. Simmons.
