Mrs. Lucille Rose Powers went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 30, 2019.
Originally from Blue Mount, Missouri, she was born on July 4, 1942 to the late Clyde and Edith Minnis of Missouri. She lived most of her adult life in Fair Play, South Carolina. She owned and operated Lucy’s Daycare for over 25 years and touched the lives in a positive way of hundreds of young children. After retiring, she moved to Eastanollee, Georgia to live with her oldest daughter. She worked making crafts, especially Bookmarks for 3rd grade kids at two area Elementary schools, first at Big A, then at Toccoa. She was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church in Fair Play, South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Powers, a grandson, Caleb McCracken of Dawn Missouri and a great-granddaughter, Briley Marsh of Marshville, North Carolina.
Survivors include her three children, Elizabeth (Liz) Clark and Larry of Eastanollee, Billie Jo McCracken and Rick of Dawn, Missouri and David Osgood of Anderson, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Travis Smith, Cody and Jamee Smith, Ashley and CJ Marsh, Jacob and Laura McCracken, Scotty and Melissa Bowes and Kerri and Monty Campbell; eight great-grandchildren, Zac, Addie, Reata, Jackson, Austin, Clayton, Lucas and Emerson.
Her wishes were to be cremated and Celebration of Life Ceremony in her memory.
The Celebration of Life will be held at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Larry Clark of Eastanollee.
