Jeane Louise Platt McDonald

Jeane Louise Platt McDonald of Gainesville, Georgia passed away July 29, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center at the age of 92 years.

Jeane was born on August 21, 1926 in Alliance, Nebraska.  She lived in Franklin, Nebraska until 1947.  She was married to Robert Baumann on August 24, 1947.  They had two daughters, Suanne and Kerry Ann.  They made their home in Whittier, California.

Jeane married Victor McDonald on July19, 1969.  They lived in Whittier nearly 18 years when he passed away May 22, 1987.  After her retirement, she moved to Georgia to be near her family in 1999.

She was a member of McEver Road United Methodist Church.  She loved being with her family and friends, she enjoyed playing the piano, and was passionate about her cross-stitch projects.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daws and Florence Platt, her husband, Victor McDonald, and stepdaughters Vickie Adams, and Penny Hernandez.

Surviving family members are daughters and sons-in-law, Suanne and Mike Stewart, and Kerry and Scott Conner.  Stepchildren are Earl and Betty Shatzer, Larry and Sheila Shatzer, and Mike and Sue McDonald.  Grandchildren are Kelly (and Blake) Light, Lisa (and Kai) Bassett, Dustin (and Heather) Conner, Mackenzie (and Jesse) Bremm, Mike (and Michelle) Shatzer, Toni (and Jesse) Navarro, Celeste Williams, Larry (and Lucretia) Shatzer, Jr.  Ryan (and Ann) McDonald, Robert (and Lisa) Adams, and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in Whittier, CA with Interment in Rose Hills Cemetery.
