Walter John Ellington

Walter John Ellington, age 55 of Cumming, Georgia, son of the late Marion E. Ellington and Jetty Mae (Mobley) Ellington, passed away on July 24th, 2019 after an extended illness. 

He is survived by his wife, Sheila (Gowens) Hunt-Ellington and three sons, Patric Ellington, Nathan Ellington, Tyler Ellington, two step-sons, Justin Hunt and Austin Hunt, daughter Sarah (Ellington) Conner and step-daughter Stephanie Hunt Massey; brother, Marion E. Ellington, Jr., and two sisters, Janet (Ellington) Woelk and Robin (Ellington)Bailey, all of Cumming, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Jon was a blessed and loving grandfather of four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.  He worked in auto parts sales at Stone Mountain Toyota until he became disabled.  He was a great sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.  He was a very loving, sweet and gentle soul cherished by everyone.  He had a great sense of humor and was the epitamy of a true friend.  He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. 

Funeral Services will be held Monday July 29th at 3:00pm at “The Chapel on McEver”at Free Chapel, 3001 McEver Rd., Gainesville, Georgia 30504. 

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Monday, July 29th from 12:30-2:30 pm. at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home, 1190 McEver Road, Gainesville, Georgia  30504.
