Edna Joyce Sosby English

Mrs. Edna Joyce Sosby English, age 79 of Ridge View Road, Lavonia passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia.

A daughter of the late Hubert L. and Berdie Mae Smith Sosby, she was born March 5, 1940 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived most of her life. She was employed with Milliken for a number of years and was a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Jack Sosby.

Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Kilcrest of Eastanollee; three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Angie English and Tony and Debbie English both of Toccoa and Treavor English of Lavonia; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Kenneth Culpepper of Toccoa; sister-in-law, Evelyn Sosby of Baldwin.

Funeral services will be Friday, July 19, 2019, 3 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerry Chitwood officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Will English, Drew English, Preston Pitts, Treavor English, Jr., Smitty Culpepper and Tim Culpepper.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 1 p.m. until the service time.

Interment will follow in the Tom’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Edna Joyce Sosby English.
