Harold Paul Payne, 88 of Commerce passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019. Born in Gainesville, GA to the late William and Fannie Payne, he was a member of Commerce Church of God and retired from Harmony Grove Mill.
Harold was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Ann Hill Payne, and his second wife, Ann Payne.
Survivors include his stepson, Dennis Lamar Porter of Winterville; stepdaughter Marie Sharpton of Maysville. 8 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren a well as a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Payne will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 2 O’ clock at Cross Road Church of God with the remains to lie in state at the church at 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow at Jackson Memorial Park. Rev. Lonnie Bennett and Rev. Gary Thompson will officiate. The family is receiving guests Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
