Warren Lee Bower

Obituary Date: Sunday, July 14, 2019

Mr. Warren Lee Bower, 89, of Cumming (formerly of Oakwood) passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 14.  Mr. Bower was born in Bethlehem, Georgia, to the late Samuel and Pearl Bower.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a U.S.D.A. retiree, a Master Mason, and a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church with 21 years of perfect attendance in Sunday School.  He loved deer hunting, fishing, gardening, eating candy, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Mr. Bower is survived by his wife of 57 years, Polly Forrester Bower.  Additional survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Benita and Phil Burruss; granddaughter, Carly Burruss; grandson, Collin Burruss; sisters Rebecca Whitley and Patricia Schermerhorn.  Mr. Bower was preceded in death by brothers Ray and George Bower; sisters, Marjorie Ackerman and Ruth Parrish. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Dr. Jim Austin and Rev. Jeff Wilkie will be officiating.  The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 17, from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
