Mr. Thomas Max Powers, age 79 of Cedar Circle, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at his residence.
A son of the late Leonard Terrell Powers and Nobie Bramlett Powers, he was born March 26, 1940 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived a greater part of his life. He was a graduate of Toccoa High School and Marsh Business School, a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Hill Street Baptist Church. He was retired from Coats and Clark and later was the Assistant District Manager with the Atlanta Journal.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Claudine Davis Powers; son, Jesse Powers of Toccoa; two nieces, Amber Dyson and Jane Davis both of Toccoa; two nephews, Yuri Dyson and Angel Nunez.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 11, 2019, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Dr. Tommy Childress and The Reverend Paul Garrison officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jesse Powers, Angel Nunez, Josh Bentley, Rocky Souza and Yuri Dyson.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Thomas Max Powers.
