Rita Powers

Mrs. Rita Powers, age 91, of Flowery Branch passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Father Eric Hill will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Powers was born May 22, 1928 to the late John & Anna Kundra in Yonkers, New York.  She moved from Yonkers, New York in August of 2001 and was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  She formerly worked at Herald-Statesman News Paper and Gestetner Printing Company in Yonkers, New York.  Mrs. Powers enjoyed traveling to Aruba with her husband and family.

Mrs. Powers is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Keith & Cherie Powers of Queensbury, New York; daughter & son-in-law, Denise & Bernie Wolcott of Flowery Branch; and grandson, T.J. Wolcott.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leonard James Powers.
