Jodi was a member of the Eastern Star, and always an active member of her church communities for example; leading Vacation Bible School at several churches. She frequently participated in volunteer and charity work. Jodi was an amazingly positive influence on so many people, everywhere she went. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Jodi was so caring and selfless, and always put other people first.

Jodi and Mark have been lovingly together for 40 years, having met during their time at Cornell University in 1979. As always, Jodi immediately made a positive impact on people and was an active member of their new community, Cresswind at Lake Lanier.  Jodi enjoyed participating in many community clubs. They were also active members of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She and Mark enjoyed traveling across Europe, Asia, and the United States together and with their longtime friends Margie and Henry Scheller.

She is preceded in death by her father Carl Diehl, her mother Joanne Yackel Diehl, and her brother Jeffery Diehl, as well as her maternal aunts, Patricia Yackel and Roberta Miller, who she was close with.

Cherishing her memory are her husband of 38 years Mark Nestle, her sons Austin and Alex Nestle, her daughter Carolyn Nestle and long-time partner John Carpio, her daughter Emily Schneider and husband Daniel Schneider, and Jodi’s grandson Theodore Schneider.  Also, she will be dearly missed by her brothers Jon and Jesse Diehl, his wife Alison, as well as her four nephews, four nieces, extended family, and innumerable friends, and former teachers and students.
