Mr. James Weldon Walker, age 64 of Camp Mikell Road, Toccoa passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his residence.
A son of Ollie Sheriff Walker and the late Howard C. Walker, Jr., he was born November 10, 1954 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He was employed with Sage Automotive for over 40 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, the Grove Masonic Lodge #652 and Toccoa Elks Lodge having been Exalted Ruler. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard C. Walker, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Katie Bradley Walker; two daughters and sons-in-law, Keri and Chris Gettys of Toccoa and Kristi and Jason Clark of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren, Walker, Lilla and Natalie; brother and sister-in-law, Howard L. Walker and wife, Judy of Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Carl Oliver of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as honorary pallbearers, Bill Jarrett, Kevin Barnes, Curtis Gattys, Ronnie Morris, Kevin Bowen and Steven May. Grove Lodge #652 will give the Masonic Rites at the conclusion of the service.
The family will be at the home on Camp Mikell Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
