J. D. Hopkins

J. D. Hopkins, 58, of Dawsonville passed away Friday June 14, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born June 25, 1960 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Robert and Frances Hopkins, he had lived in Dawson County since 1972.  J. D. had formerly worked doing roofing and plumbing.  He was an avid sports fan, especially the Braves, Falcons, Atlanta United and GA Tech.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert B. Hopkins, Jr.

Surviving are his stepmother, Betty Hopkins, Dawsonville; stepsisters and brothers in law, Gail and Willie Patterson, Dawsonville, Teresa and Richard Haynes, Barnesville, GA, Heather James, Gainesville; aunts and Uncle, Doris and Rick Cook, Dawsonville, Jeanie Putscher, Taylorsville, Utah; Uncles and Aunts, Earnest and Betty Nalley, Dawsonville, Grady and Jean Hopkins, Ellijay; and an number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday June 17, 2019 at 11 o’clock at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery.  Rev. Leonard W. Ridings and Rev. Max Padgett will officiate.
