David Leverette

Obituary Date: Monday, June 10, 2019

David Leverette was born January 21, 1953 to the late Sylvester & Inez Leverette in Gainesville, GA and was a member of First Baptist Church. David grew up in Gainesville and was a 1971 graduate of South Hall High School. After graduating, he went to work for MD Products and as a devoted employee for 42 years. In 1980 David married the love of his life Carol. For 38 years David was a loving, devoted, faithful husband until he gained his wings on June 10, 2019.

David was also known for his superb tennis skills. Winning many local and state championship while breaking records and barriers. David’s love for tennis opened many opportunities for those in his community. David spent countless hours devoting his time to teaching the sport to family, friends, and even strangers who eventually turned into friends.

David loved his family more than life and tennis. He was the epiphany of a true man of God. David found happiness in knowing that his wife and children were taken care of and loved. David reminded his family daily that they were loved and he knew that he was loved in return. David was preceded in death by his parents Sylvester & Inez Leverette; One brother William Dunn and one sister Linda Leverette all of Gainesville, GA. He leaves to cherish his memories his son Demond Leverette (Danyell) and his daughter Brandy Leverette. He also leaves to cherish his memories two brothers Ricky Leverette and Michael Leverette (Lynn); three sisters Yvonne Robinson (Larry), Barbara Leverette, and Zelda Leverette all of Gainesville, GA. David was a devoted grandfather to Lahius Leverette, DeAsia Leverette, and Jikesse Ruff all of Gainesville, Ga. David also leaves to cherish his memories a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Antioch Baptist Church, 1010 Mill Street, Gainesville, GA 30501 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at First Baptist Church,    1810 Martin Luther King Jr. boulevard, Gainesville, GA 30501 between the hours of 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Internment will be held at Alta Vista Cemetery immediately following funeral service. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
