James (Jim) D. Esslinger -Clarkesville, Georgia
The community has lost a local well-known business owner and operator of Hollywood Welding and Supply. His passing was June 10, 2019.
A son of Margaret “Maggie” Sullivan and the late William Esslinger, he was born July 22, 1947 in Madison, Kansas. He traveled the world building and installing CPS Bagging equipment in many exotic countries. He taught Economics at Piedmont College. For the past 40 years, he has owned and operated Hollywood Welding and Supply in Clarkesville.
Survivors include his mother, Margaret “Maggie” Sullivan of Marietta, Georgia; wife of the home, Julie Maddox Esslinger; twin sons and their wives, Jeffery and Dana Esslinger of Cartersville, Georgia and Greg and Anne Marie Esslinger of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Mary Crawford, Davis and Abby. Jim also raised daughter Jill Palmer and son Jay Palmer who reside in Toccoa; sister, Jan Parrish of Marietta; sister-in-law, Sarah Esslinger of Clarkesville; several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Jim in July, date and time to be announced later.
