Gene Treadwell

Gene Treadwell, age, 90 of Buford, GA passed away June 3, 2019. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Nobie Treadwell; brothers, Loyce Treadwell, Mercer Treadwell, Bowdin Treadwell; sister, Marvene Haynie; daughter, Phyllis Flanagan.  He is survived by his wife of Sixty-five years, Joyce Dunahoo Treadwell, Buford, GA; son, Henry Morgan “Butch” Treadwell, Hartwell, GA; grandchildren,  Denise Flanagan, Statham, GA, Donna Flanagan, Statham, GA, Tonya Flanagan, Athens, GA, Raif (Carrie) Treadwell, Dacula, GA, Josh (Rachel) Treadwell, Hartwell, GA; nine great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Doris Watkins, Statham, GA; brother in-law, Ricky (Sharee) Dunahoo, Winder, GA, several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Mr. Treadwell was born August 12, 1928 in Statham, GA. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a  1946 graduate of  Statham High School, Statham, GA and attended Massey Junior College. He retired from General Motors Assembly Plant, Doraville, GA after 30 years. He was a member of U. A.W. Local 10.  A member of Statham Masonic Lodge #634 F.AM. A member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church, also member of Keenagers Senior Citizen Group an a member of friendship Sunday School class.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA with Pastor Jeff Coleman officiating. Interment to follow at Barrow Memorial Gardens, Winder, GA. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Flanigan Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers donations may be to American Heart Association in memory of Eugene Treadwell.
