Althie was a member of Nimblewill Baptist Church and a beloved neighbor to her community until her health began to decline.  She chose to move to Tanglewood Personal Care Home to become part of their family.  Althie had a unique personality and was very loved for her humor.  She is preceded in death by her husband Larry Calhoun, brother-in-law Raymond Milton, father-in-law and mother-in-law Clyde and Alma Calhoun, brother-in-law Ronnie Calhoun, and brother-in-law Eddie Lingerfelt.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Carol and Richard Whitehead, Carnesville; sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Bonita West, Clermont, and Rick and Linda West, Jasper; sister Sara Lou Milton, Ellijay; grandchildren Daneka West, Chris Savage, Kelsey Savage; great grandson Carson Savage; sisters-in-law Judy Lingerfelt, and Reita Snipes; brother-in-law and sister-in law Mickey and Shirley Calhoun; nieces and nephews Lori and Billy Brooksher, Sheri and Mark Pruitt and Andy and Joan Milton.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Friday, May 31, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Mickey Wheeler and the Rev. Roger Shadburn will officiate.  She will be laid to rest in Nimblewill Baptist Church Cemetery next to her beloved husband.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their thanks to the Tanglewood Staff and Agape Hospice for their care of Athie.  Her beloved sister-in-law Reita was a faithful caregiver and companion to Athie until the end of her life.  We look forward to being with Athie again when we all get home.
