Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 29, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Ward’s Funeral Home for Maylon Mayfield, 57, of Dawsonville. Rev. Phillip Wehunt will officiate. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Mayfield passed away May 26, 2019.
A native of Hall County, Mr. Mayfield was the son of Ronald Mayfield and the late Sylvia Lomax Olson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Herman Henry Stovall. A very skilled carpenter, Mr. Mayfield worked with Southern Staircase building customized Staircases and Stair rails. Mr. Mayfield was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a 1979 graduate of North Hall High School.
Maylon loved the Lord with all his heart. He shared God’s Love and Forgiveness with everyone he came in contact with. He was deeply loved and missed by all who loved him.
Survivors include, wife, Nancy Mayfield, Dawsonville; sons, Malachi and Matthew Mayfield, both of Dawsonville; sisters, Sandy Mayfield, Dahlonega and Sheria (Frank) O’Brien, Gainesville; special niece, Halie Shope and special nephew, Travis Carter; sister in laws, Dawn (Steve) Parks, Vicki Woodall, Angela Woodall, all of Gainesville.
