Martha Swearingen White

Mrs. Martha Swearingen White, 95 years young, passed away on May 26, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Raymond White of Hampton, GA. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Nannie Swearingen of Monetta, SC, as well as her sisters, Francis, Edna, and Lois, all of SC.

Martha is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Celeste White of Dahlonega; Grandaughters, Leslie White and Michael Adams, and Lauren White of Dahlonega; and Great-Grandson, Reid Adams of Dahlonega and several nieces and nephews.

Martha moved to Atlanta from South Carolina in 1964 with her husband and son and went to work for the state of Georgia’s tax revenue office. She retired after 24 years of faithful service, never being late a single day. After her retirement she spent the remainder of her time cutting grass, working in her garden, planting flowers, and cooking her wonderful meals for her family! Her faith was important to her and it was rare that she missed a Sunday at Sunday School.
