Ruby Mae Ward Collier

Mrs. Ruby Mae Ward Collier age 97 of Commerce, Georgia passed away Saturday May 4, 2019 at Hill Haven Nursing Home.

She was born April 7, 1922 in Toccoa, Georgia; she was the daughter of the late Felton Lee and Neura Cole Ward. She resided in Stephens County most of her life and the last sixteen years at Hill Haven Nursing Home. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church later attending New Hope Baptist Church. She retired from Coats and Clark with 39 years of service; she was a member of order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. She was preceded in death by her first husband George Powell, son Robert (Bob) Powell, and husband John C. Collier, sisters Doris Rowland, Sue Parrish, Lucille Redd, Ruth Meyers, Agnes Collins, brother Felton Lee Ward Jr.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law John and Jerrie Collier and Harry and Vivian Collier, daughter Vickie Collier, sister Betty McClain, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Fletcher and Luna Collier of Charlotte, North Carolina, sister-in-law Melba McCurry of Toccoa, sister-in-law Gail Collier of Toccoa, brother-in-law L.H. Wood of Chesnee, South Carolina, grandchildren Jason and Kay Isbell of Wisconsin, Kevin and Tina Isbell and Josh and Shawra Collier, Jarrad Collier of Toccoa, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews and other family members .

Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 7, 2019 at 2 P.M. at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 6 P.M. til 8 P.M.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Josh Collier, Harry Collier, Jarrad Collier, Terry Garner, John Collier, and Jason Garner.

Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens
