Michael Whittle, age 29, tragically passed away in an accident on April 30, 2019, joining many of his loved ones in Heaven. He leaves behind his parents, three amazing children, his sisters and his grandfather - his family, who couldn’t be more proud of him.
As a young boy you could find Michael climbing a tree, calling in a bird, or shooting something - evidently he never grew up! Though life threw Michael many curve balls he and his beloved girlfriend Micah walked hand in hand to restoration. He was a graduate of Victory House and was eager to share his story of sobriety with anyone who would listen. His new found peace, smile and laughter were infectious and even on his bad days he was the guy you wanted to be around.
Michael’s home away from home was atop a tree with the best view of God’s glory. He loved being a tree climber and loved his tree family even more. His expertise afforded him the opportunity to consult for many different tree climbing outfits and to be sought out for advice that he was always happy to offer.
When he was home, he loved spending time with his children and growing their relationship that he worked so hard for - cutting grass, shooting targets, outdoor exploring, hatching tadpoles and bowling are some of their most recent adventures.
It goes without saying that Michael made a huge impact on the people around him. He was loyal, giving and willing to help out at a moment’s notice. One thing is for sure, if Michael knew you, he had your back and that doesn’t stop now.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held Saturday, May 4 at Ingram Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 2 pm until the time of service at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a message, photo, or a donation be made to the following GoFundMe created in his memory:
