Ralph W. Waters

Mr. Ralph W. Waters, age 87, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, April 29, 2019.

Mr. Waters was born in Lumpkin County on April 29, 1932 to the late Ed Thomas and Lela Bell Chester Waters.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Kay Waters McDonald, brother Carlton Waters, sisters and brothers-in-law Merle and Roy Fraizer, and Opal and Harold Southern, brothers Clayton Waters, and Joe Waters.  Ralph retired from Burlington Industries/Pinetree.  He loved working and gardening to provide for his family.  Mr. Waters was affectionately called “Papa Ralph” by his grandchildren.  He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Amy Waters, Dahlonega; sons and daughters-in-law Tom and Donna Waters, Dahlonega, and Doug and Michelle Waters, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law Myra and Joel Tapp, Gainesville, and Shelia and Mike Adams, Marietta; sons Michael Jackson, and Wiley Sims; grandchildren Savana Waters, Cole Waters, Philip Tapp, Susan Adams, and Kathy and Daniel Ippolito; brother Wade and Jenny Waters, Dahlonega; sister Susie and Bobby Kinnard, Dahlonega; sisters-in-law Bertha Waters, Evelyn Waters, and Joyce Waters; special friends Gene and Joyce Bryant, and Jimmy and Janice Justus; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
