Dorothea DeMar Wolinsky, 88, passed away suddenly on April 27, 2019, at Antebellum Assisted Living in Cumming, GA. She was born on May 13, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY, to Thomas and Marie (Paterno) Sfraga. Along with being a mother to three boys, she assisted her husband, Milton, managing the family’s fast food restaurants in Chattanooga, TN, including the first Chattanooga-area franchise for Orange Julius located in the downtown area. Later in life, she returned to school obtaining an Associate Degree in Medical Records from Chattanooga State Technical Community College in 1982. She used her skills at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and finished her career at Erlanger Medical Center both in Chattanooga, TN. Dorothea married Milton Wolinsky in 1952 in Knoxville, TN. They were happily married for 64 years until his passing in 2017. She loved movies, musicals especially, and was an avid reader. She loved a great conversation and always shared an infectious sense of humor with all those around her. Dorothea was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Marie (Paterno) Sfraga; her husband Milton Wolinsky, and her son, Dean Wolinsky.
She is survived by her sons, Mark (Vicki) Wolinsky of Cumming, GA, Glen (Brenda) Wolinsky of Chickamauga, GA; her grandchildren Chuck (Stacey) Wildman of Chattanooga, TN, Ben (Laura) Wildman of Signal Mountain, GA, Jessica Wolinsky, Megan Wolinsky, Kayla Wolinsky, Devin Wolinsky, and Taylor Wolinsky; her great-grandchildren Dreanna Wildman, Jacob Wildman, Drew Wildman, and Hannah Wildman; and her nieces and nephews and other relatives. In deference to the family’s wishes, a private family memorial service will be held in Cumming, GA.
