John D. Shadburn

John D. Shadburn, age 86, of Cumming, Ga., passed peacefully on Tuesday, April 23 2019 surrounded by his precious family. John was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Hope Fellowship Church in Cumming and the perfect southern gentleman.

He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 66 years, Margaret Shadburn; daughters and sons-in-law Joan and Allan Edmonds and Gail and Mark Petree; grandchildren Bre Humphries, Lindsey Trauger, Jake Petree and Shad Petree; and great-grandchildren Hayes and Drake Humphries and Harlyn and Isla Trauger.

John’s smile was contagious, his sense of humor endearing and his faith unwavering. He loved his family, the Good Lord, and his trusty ole guitar; in fact, he is probably pickin’ and grinnin’ with Jesus in heaven this very minute.

Funeral services for John will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory in Cumming with Rev. Barry Crocker officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
