Mattie Mae Haynes

Obituary Date: Tuesday, April 23, 2019

Mattie Mae Haynes, 78, of Lula passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Griffin, Rev. Drewery Loggins and Rev. Tom Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on December 22, 1940 in Lula, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Minnie Mae Brown. She was a Custodian at East Hall High School and a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Willie Rea Shockley and brother, J.T. Brown.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by her husband, YD Haynes of Lula; son and daughter in law, Tommy D and Carolyn Haynes of Carnesville; granddaughter, Anita Hightower of Demorest; grandson, Mark Grizzle of Lula; granddaughters, Chrissy Ayers of Carnesville, Amanda Kennedy of La Grange; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great –great grandchild and a number of other relatives.
