Home Going Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Ivery Jean Wansley, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Cross Plains Baptist Church, 3230 Cross Plains Road, Gainesville, Ga 30507. Rev. Larry Devers, pastor/eulogist
Visitation is Monday, April 22, 2019 from1:00-4:00pm at Young's Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm at Union Baptist Church, 251 Bona Road, Buford, Ga 30518.
Mr. Ivery Jean was born on November 19, 1934 in Hall County to the late Lillie Mae Young-Wansley and the late Ira (Ivory) Wansley.
He started school at Cross Plains School and completed Buford Colored School after the family moved to Buford. He started working at an early age, working for several employers and eventually retired from Vulcan Materials as a foreman after 25 years of dedicate service. Upon retiring he continued to work serving as a security officer until his health prevented him from doing so.
Ivery Jean was a member of Cross Plains Baptist Church from birth. He transitioned from his earthly life on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Northside-Forsyth Hospital in Cummings, Georgia.

Ivery Jean was the oldest child, he was a servant leader as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a dedicated family man and a good person. His door was always open and you were always invited to have a seat and stay awhile. He would always say “Don’t be in a hurry” and “Come back and see me”.
Family will assemble at 4778 Pebble Trace, Buford, GA 30518 at noon on the day of the service.
