Early Cousin III, AKA E-Cuz, age 54, of Cleveland, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 21, 2019 from 4-6 PM with a service at 6 PM in the Chapel of Cleveland Funeral Home.
Born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee was the youngest of four children. Music has always been a passion for him and the other members of his family. Whether singing spiritually in church or participating in a musical in elementary school, his heart had found true rhythm. The early inspiration that drove him came from the “Alexander’s ragtime band.” His classmates and he performed this musical which was videoed by college students. So, at a young age he had his first taste and thrill of performing and stirring the crowd. E-CUZ knew he had found his calling. In 1990, he landed a fulltime position as a DJ and at this point, he branched out into song writing and started recording at RC Productions Chattanooga.
E-CUZ, at the time of his passing resided in the northeast Georgia mountains. He saw the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to have a CD produced and has 2 released. Many of the same struggles and challenges of life that often befall African American youths, he too had to overcome. In his music he continued to write and record giving hope to many who want to alter their apparent destiny and leave a legacy behind.
Mr. Cousin preceded his parents McDaniel and Harriet Bowman in death and is survived by his wife of 12 years Sharon Cousin; children Bradley Cousin of Chattanooga, TN; Jason Kozdra, of Florida; Adam Kozdra, of Texas; Jamela and her husband Matthew Woertz, of Mount Airy, Georgia; Hunter and Christina Green, of Blue Ridge, Georgia; Ian Green, of Helen, Georgia; siblings Ivan Cousin, Eric and Sharon Cousin; Renee Cousin; Selina Cousin Graham. Grandchildren Jupiter, Rachel, David, Uriah, Kiley, Cameron, Jacinda, Matthew and Jayden. Several more extended family members also survive.
