Henry Carlton “Doude” Gerrin

Henry Carlton “Doude” Gerrin, age 83 of Demorest, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 20. 2019 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Cleveland, Georgia on November 20, 1935 to the late Ed Sphere Gerrin and Bonnie Tomlin Gerrin. Mr. Gerrin retired from Schnadig Corp. after many years of service. He has been an active member of Mud Creek Baptist Church for 50 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dorsey Gerrin and Jerome Gerrin.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Debra Bradshaw Gerrin of Demorest; son and fiancé, Jeffrey Scott Gerrin & Cheryl Wilbanks of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila Althea Bennett & Bryan Nathan Bennett, Sr. of Demorest; grandchildren, Kyle Lovell, Megan Gerrin, Whitley Reichenberg, Casey Bryant, Carly Shirley, Brandon Stroud and Leasha Bennett; great-grandchildren, Caroline Lovell, Daxxon Shirley, Gavin Baker and Aailyah Torres; sister, Maggie Vandiver of Demorest; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Mud Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Turpin, Rev. James Lyons and Mr. Tony Owens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
