Greg A. Bowers

After a long and valiant battle with cancer Greg A. Bowers, age 63, passed away on April 19, 2019 at his home in Gainesville, GA.

Born in Kansas City, MO to Larry and Mary Bowers, the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia where Greg graduated from Lakeside High School.

With over thirty years in the metal finishing industry, he was employed by the Pangborn Corporation in Fairburn, Georgia where he traveled internationally as Director of Sales.

Survivors include Connie Quillan Bowers, his wife of 31 years; one son, U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Stephen L. Bowers; and daughter-in-law, Summer Bowers of Vicenza, Italy; a brother Jeff Bowers of Gainesville Georgia and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Mary and Larry Bowers; sister, Beth Bowers Newsom; and brother, David Bowers.

A true adventurer and athlete, Greg competed in triathlons, and was an adventure racer, bicycle racer, kayaker and outdoors enthusiast. Sharing outdoor adventures with his wife, son and friends was one of his greatest pleasures.

The family will hold a private memorial service and celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Greg Bowers to the Elachee Nature Center, Gainesville, Georgia.
