Martha Elizabeth Hudson

 Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Hudson, age 73, of Dahlonega passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

Mrs. Hudson was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County.  She was born on February 27, 1946 to the late Charles Hubert and Imogene Baker Sanford.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Hudson and sister Martha Sue Rider.  Mrs. Hudson loved NASCAR racing and her favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt.  She loved spending time with her grandkids.  Mrs. Hudson was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. 

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Bobby Ray and Nicole Hudson; sisters and brothers-in-law Patricia and Clarence Grindle, Mildred and Lyndal Caldwell, and Bea and Danny Phillips; brother and sister-in-law Tracy and Sherry Sanford, all of Dahlonega; grandchildren Jacob Hudson and Micheala Fields; special daughter Jody Jarrard Anderson, James Garris; special grandchildren Cody and Rikkilynn Anderson, Johnathan Allison, and Luke Allison; nieces and nephews Travis and Lane Rider, Kevin and Ginger Phillips, Sabrina and Kurt Thomas, Sydney Sanford, Cage Sanford and great nephew Luke Phillips.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.  Interment will follow in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
