James Hollis Perryman, Jr., age 88 of Sautee Nacoochee, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
Mr. Perryman was born on October 1, 1930, in Mayfield, Kentucky to James Hollis Perryman and Alta Adams Perryman. He married Nan Lenoir Cornett in 1953, in Walterboro, South Carolina. James received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Presbyterian College, and a master’s degree in forestry from Duke University. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. James retired from Gilman Paper Company in 1992 and was also a member of Nacoochee United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Rehberg, Alexandria, VA.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nan Perryman, Sautee Nacoochee; daughters, Melissa Roberts (Terry Roberts), Sautee Nacoochee, and Amanda Wright (William Wright), Beaufort, South Carolina; granddaughter, Hollis Hammonds (Mark Hammonds), Tampa, Florida; and great-grandson, Nathan Hammonds, Tampa, Florida.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2pm Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Nacoochee United Methodist Church. The Rev. Keith Windmiller will officiate.
