Hugh Clifton Woodward

Mr. Hugh Clifton Woodward, age 67, of Dahlonega passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019.

Mr. Woodward was born in Hall County on March 4, 1952 to the late Edison and Lela Woodward.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Gene Woodward, Bo Woodward; sisters Wilda Burson, Irma Jackson; and nephew David Woodward. Mr. Woodward worked in law enforcement for over 30 years. He dedicated many years coaching the Red’s in Little League Baseball and he affectionally called them the “Big Red Machine”.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-laws Casey and Summer Woodward, Dahlonega, Nelson and Susan Woodward, Gainesville; brother Ren Woodward, Dahlonega; grandchildren Dayla and Jared Juarez Woodward, Dawson Woodward; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Anderson-Underwood Chapel.  The Rev. Lyman Caldwell, the Rev. Stephen Mulkey and the Rev. Tony Allison will officiate.  Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
