David Clayton NeSmith

David Clayton NeSmith, age 57, of Norcross, GA passed away April 3, 2019.   He graduated from Peachtree High School in 1979 and was an outstanding pitcher for the baseball team.  He had a nasty slider.

David was a heavy equipment operator and later, a foreman for his career, building roads, runways and interstates.  He was most proud of his work on "Spaghetti Junction".

David is survived by his beloved daughter, Taylor Landers NeSmith (fiancé, Justin Jones), sister, Judy Ellyson, brother, Richard NeSmith, nephews Derek Ellyson (Beth), Jesse Wells NeSmith and niece Laura Ellyson Feltman (Justin), ex-wife and "ex-husband-in-law" Lori and Robert Taormina.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Wells NeSmith, Sr. and Margaret Finley NeSmith, and brother, Donald Wells NeSmith, Jr.

David loved the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons.  He had a wicked sense of humor, a thirst for a cold beer and was an avid gun enthusiast.  He was also amazing in the kitchen and on the smoker.

He was a good man, a true and honest man, who is gone too soon.  His daughter, Taylor, was his whole world.  He will be missed sorely by all of his family and his multitude of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 7 from 2:30 p.m. until time for the service at 3:30 p.m.
