Phillip W. Nix

Phillip W. Nix, 83, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Griffin

and Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 2nd at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Born on October 21, 1935, in Forsyth County, GA he was the son of the late Andrew and Sarah Owens Nix. He was retired from

the City of Gainesville where he worked in the Maintenance department. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and attended New Haven Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nix is preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Nix;

Mr. Nix is survived by his step-daughter, Jimmie Gilreath (Curtis) of Gainesville; Brother, Wayne Nix (Kathy Lawson) of Gainesville; granddaughters,

Lynn Hudgins (Roger), Sherri St. John, Dameta Jones (Bob); 4 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
