James Hopper

James Hopper, age 75, of Cornelia, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

Mr. Hopper was born on November 2, 1943, in Hayesville, North Carolina, to the late Odis and Lela Adeline Benfield Hopper.  He worked as a custodian and served as a deacon for many years at Old Nacoochee Baptist Church.  James was a very prayerful man and was always ready to encourage others.  He was very talented musician and was able to play a variety of string instruments.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Hopper; siblings, Jack Hopper, Joe Hopper, and Skipper Haney.

Survivors include his sisters, Wanda Vandiver and Jeri Brinkman, both of Cleveland; many extended family also survive.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Old Nacoochee Baptist Church.   The Rev. Joel Shadburn and the Rev. Bill Trotter will officiate.  Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Sunday prior to the service at the church.
