Julia “Judy” Simmemon Tidwell

Julia “Judy” Simmemon Tidwell, age 76, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019.

Mrs. Tidwell was born on May 31, 1942, in Baldwin, Georgia, to the late Lamar and Sylvia McDuffie Simmemon. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Tobe” Simmemon. Judy was a homemaker and member of Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Jimmy Tidwell of Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and James Campbell of Baldwin and Cynthia and Douglas Moore of Commerce; brother, Winston Simmemon of Alto; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Cornelia Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Terry Benfield and Rev. Clarence Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2019, until 1:00 pm on Sunday, March 31, 2019, the day of the service, at 219 Simmemon Road, Alto, Georgia 30510.
