Helen F. Wall, age 87, passed away at Stephens County Hospital on Sunday morning March 24, 2019. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of friends and family.
Born in Rabun County September 30, 1931, she was the third child of nine. Her parents, John and Lois Fountain, raised their family on Wolffork Road in Rabun Gap and Helen attended Rabun County High School. Helen married Lester J. Wall in 1953 and together they raised Tim and Cheryl. Helen worked at various jobs outside the home throughout her life and was active in the community. Later in life, she volunteered with the American Legion as an Auxiliary Legion member. Most recently, Helen attended the Rabun County Senior Center daily and enjoyed time with her friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester and seven of her eight siblings. She is survived by her brother Bill Fountain (Arlene) of Mountain City, son Tim (Christine) of Clayton, daughter Cheryl (Rob) of Burke, Virginia, grandchildren Kyle (Cassie), Shain, Steve and Brandi, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Monday March 25, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday March 26, 2019 at Beck Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Blue Heights cemetery where she will lay in rest next to her husband Lester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Michael J. Grandma’s strong presence, love of country, sense of humor, loyalty and dedication to family will be dearly missed.
