Doris Elaine Nelson Reynolds

 Ms. Doris Elaine Nelson Reynolds age 96 of Jefferson passed away on Thursday March 21, 2019 at her daughters residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday March 23, 2019 at 11:00 at Christ Lutheran Church in Oakwood, Georgia with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Andy Seibert and Reverend Bob Mitchell will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday March 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Oakwood, Georgia. 

Doris was born on August 26, 1922 in Hartington, Nebraska to the late Col. Lawrence A. Nelson and Gladys Wachtler Nelson. She was very active in Christ Lutheran Church in Oakwood, Ga and Christ the Lord Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville, Ga. She lived the military life, and loved political campaigns. Doris taught and played in Bridge Clubs, Garden Clubs, officer’s wives club, she also did extensive travelling and lived in Italy, Okinawa as well as 12 other states in the United States. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband, Lt. Col., Eugene F. Reynolds.

Ms. Reynolds is survived by her daughter, Roberta Lee Stender of Ave Maria, Florida, daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bragg of Jefferson, Ga, daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne Elaine Jones (Bob) of Fort Knox, Kentucky, grandchildren, Cynthia Anne Bragg Knapp (Mike), Andrew Eugene Bragg (Gina), Lisa Ilona Bragg Patterson, William Harold Stender, III (Aleta), Elizabeth Laine Stender Boyer (Lynn), John Frederick Stender (Leighann), Suzanne Roberta Stender Krzyminski (John), Christopher Nelson Walker (Melody), Stephanie Elaine Walker Meredith (Eric), Robert Lee Jones (Jennifer), Kathryn Rebecca Jones, 38 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and 3 loving nephews, Robert Reynolds (Carol), William Hinton (Phyllis) and Jerry Hinton (Martha).
